Job summary

JBT Marel Corporation is seeking a Lab Technician Intern in Riverside, CA to assist with sample preparation and residue analysis for Citrus products. You will report to the Laboratory Supervisor and assist with various procedures, including handling chemicals and testing products, through May–June.

This internship offers hands-on lab experience in a corporate setting at a global food and beverage technology leader, emphasizing safety, data reporting, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or holding an Associate/Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field.
• Experience in a chemistry lab through classwork or job is mandatory.
• Basic laboratory experience is required.
• Comfortable working with chemicals.
• Able to read and understand Chemical SDS’s.

• Efficiently prepare and extract residue samples for analysis.
• Conduct residue analyses according to established protocols.
• Maintain and stock reagents, ensuring quality and integrity.
• Keep the laboratory clean and organized for an efficient working environment.

The Opportunity As our Lab Technician Intern, you will assist with preparation of samples and residue analysis for Citrus products. You will report to the Laboratory Supervisor and assist with a variety of procedures that include handling chemicals and testing products. You will be based out of the Riverside, CA site. Internship is expected to run through May-June

Key Responsibilities

Efficiently prepare and extract residue samples, ensuring readiness for accurate and timely analysis. Conduct residue analyses with precision, adhering to established protocols. Maintain and stock reagents, ensuring their quality and integrity are preserved. Keep the laboratory clean and organized, ensuring an efficient working environment. Regularly check and maintain lab equipment, promptly reporting any issues to supervisors for resolution. Additional responsibilities besides the ones listed below may be revised.

Qualifications

Pursuing or holding an Associate/Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field. Experience in a chemistry lab through classwork or job is mandatory. Basic laboratory experience is required. Comfortable working with chemicals. Able to read and understand Chemical SDS’s.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

Ability to work in various conditions, including indoor/outdoor weather, moving industrial machinery, chemicals and fumes, noisy or dusty environments. Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, climb, squat and step up/down for various amounts of time and paces. Ability to stand or sit for long periods and perform repetitive tasks. Capability to lift, push, pull and move materials, typically up to 50 pounds. Hand Use: Frequent use of hands and fingers for handling equipment and performing tasks. Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Estimated annual salary/hourly range

The estimated annual salary/hourly range for this role is $ 20.00/hour - $25.00/hour Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Starting salary will vary by location, qualifications, and prior experience.
