Position Overview
McKinney Specialty Labs, LLC. is looking for a Laboratory Technician who will be responsible for performing tasks required to meet the expectations of our clients, in addition to efficiently and profitably generating defensible data in a timely manner.?This position will be in one of the following groups: GC, LC, GCMS, or LCMS, and these tasks will be performed under the direction of the Group Leader.?
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Preparation of tobacco, cigar(ette), eliquid, or aerosol samples for analysis
- Preparation of reagents for lab use and/or shipment
- Cleaning of laboratory glassware
- Maintaining clean laboratory areas
- Maintaining organized records of sample preparation and analysis
- Assisting the Group Leaders and analysts in acquiring and inventorying consumables, chemicals, and parts for instrumentation
- Comfortable working with chemicals, glassware, and tobacco/nicotine products
- Ability to remain flexible and handle changing priorities
- Position requires attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and a desire to worth both as part of a team and independently
- Comply with McKinney SL Quality Assurance Program and other policies
- Comply with McKinney SL Health and Safety Plan
- Other duties as assigned by the Group Leader or Lab Director
Necessary Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. - Associates or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or related field preferred
Preferred Skills
- Prior Laboratory experience preferred but not required as this is an entry level position
- Knowledge of analytical method, analytical instruments, general lab practices and lab safety
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Good organizational skills and strong communication skills
- Must be flexible in work schedule (including Saturdays) and able to work overtime
