Job summary

Pillar Innovations, LLC seeks a Lab Technician I – Fiber Optics to build and test fiber optic cables in a hands-on lab, supporting field teams and customers for quality, efficiency and reliability.

You will troubleshoot and apply your technical skills while embracing a culture that values precision, learning, and safety as the company continues to grow.

Qualifications

  • Experience in lab or fiber optic environments preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow written directions.
  • Capable of lifting 75–100 pounds when required.
  • Background checks and drug screening required

Responsibilities

  • Identify basic fiber optic cables and materials.
  • Learn and perform basic fiber optic cable builds.
  • Fill orders: spooling fiber, kitting, assembling enclosures.
  • Record inventory quantities using Vista and Excel.
  • Organize and document warehouse stock.
  • Assist with inventory control

Position Overview

Lab Technician I – Fiber Optics plays a key role in bringing our projects to life by building and testing fiber optic cables in a hands-on lab environment. This position directly supports our field teams and customers, helping ensure quality, efficiency, and reliable performance every step of the way. You’ll have the opportunity to apply your technical skills to real-world challenges, troubleshoot issues, and be part of a team that values precision, problem-solving, and continuous learning. What You'll Do
  • Identify basic Fiber Optic cables and materials
  • Learn and perform basic cable builds
  • Fill orders to include spooling fiber cable, kitting materials, assembling basic enclosures, etc.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with recording inventory quantities using Vista and Microsoft Excel
  • Organize and document warehouse stock
  • Assist with inventory control

Working Conditions

  • Sit / use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls / reach with hands and arms / - for extended periods
  • Twist, pinch, pull with fingers and hands repetitively
  • Lift and/or move up to 75-100 pounds when required
