Job summary

TOK America, Inc. in Hillsboro, Oregon, seeks an Advanced Metrology Technician to operate wet etch surface preparation tools and metrology instruments for QC and R&D. You will manage data, maintain tools, and support continuous improvement in a fast-paced semiconductor environment.

SUMMARY:

Function: Processes wafers using semiconductor wet etch surface preparation and surface metrology tools for quality control and R&D of semiconductor chemicals. Maintains and operates semiconductor wet etch surface preparation tools, surface metrology tools, and chemical metrology tools.

Scope:

Responsible for maintaining and operating semiconductor wet etch surface preparation tools such as TEL Cellesta, surface metrology tools such as KLA Surfscan, and chemical metrology tools such as inline process analyzers (pH) and liquid particle counters.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The essential functions of this position require prioritizing and completing all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner, adjusting for changing priorities and availability of resources, and demonstrating initiative in identifying additional job-related tasks to be completed when time permits. The amount of time performing each function may vary day-to-day. All duties shall be performed in an efficient and professional manner in accordance with the company policies and under the direct supervision of a designated supervisor.

  1. 1. Inspect and assess job site conditions and equipment to identify hazards or malfunctions, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
  2. 2. Operate computers and office technology with high accuracy and judgment to manage and present business documents and data.
  3. 3. Analyze and interpret complex data quickly and accurately, communicating technical information clearly to various audiences.
  4. 4. Operate semiconductor wet etch surface preparation and surface metrology tools, including manipulating drum scale samples and moving FOSBs from tool to tool.
  5. 5. Perform routine maintenance on semiconductor wet etch surface preparation and surface metrology tools
  6. 6. Analyze product samples for QC evaluations.
  7. 7. Operation of additional laboratory and process instrumentation as time allows at the direction of Inspection & Metrology Management.
  8. 8. Forklift certification and operation.
  9. 9. Maintain consumable inventory (wafers, tool parts, standards, etc.)
  10. 10. Maintain quality records of standards, calibrations, PMs, and DOEs.
  11. 11. Perform cleaning and organizing of Inspection & Metrology areas according to 6S standards.
  12. 12. Continuous quality improvement as related to ISO 9001.
  13. 13. Proper handling and disposal of hazardous waste
  14. 14. Actively demonstrate high levels of employee engagement, coachability (e.g., receiving and incorporating business-related feedback and instruction with a positive and growth-oriented mindset) to achieve desired outcomes, and accountability for personal performance and its impact on others' ability to do their job well.
  15. 15. Perform other necessary duties and tasks as requested.
Periodical

Attend annual and/or quarterly refresher courses related to hazardous waste management and handling, general safety, quality management, and environmental management.

SUPERVISION:

Receives: The department management team provide direction (Lead Engineer, Manager, and/or General Manager). Completed work is reviewed for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with the established guidelines.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • · Minimum of a 2-year AA degree in chemistry, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience and education.
  • · Basic knowledge of chemistry.
  • · Experience with semiconductor fab equipment preferred.
  • · Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Prior experience and/or certification that can be verified will be considered in evaluating training requirements.

FURTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • May need to be able to work overtime as directed by Manager.
  • May need to be able to work various shifts as directed by Manager.
  • Must possess a reliable means of transportation to and from work.
