Job summary

System One is seeking a Lab Technician for the Color Lab to prepare samples, transfer coatings, and ensure accurate labeling and packaging of customer materials. The role operates onsite on a Monday–Friday schedule with standard lab safety practices.

The position emphasizes precise operations, adherence to procedures, and teamwork in a manufacturing laboratory environment. Prior coatings or manufacturing exposure is helpful but not required, with a focus on safe handling of materials.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to support the Color Lab team in a lab/manufacturing environment.
• Previous experience in coatings, paint, manufacturing, laboratory, or related environments is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare products and samples to support Color Lab operations.
• Transfer product from 5-gallon pails into quart containers accurately.
• Pour and transfer coating materials safely and efficiently.
• Prepare and solidify products and samples according to laboratory procedures.
• Label, package, and organize customer samples for shipment.
• Verify sample accuracy before shipment.
• Perform routine checks on automatic pigment dispensers.
• Calibrate laboratory equipment as needed.
• Follow all safety, health, environmental, and quality procedures.
• Wear required PPE.
• Report unsafe conditions, accidents, and hazards immediately.
• Support ISO quality and environmental compliance initiatives.
• Complete special projects and other duties assigned by the Color Lab Supervisor.
• Maintain high standards of safety, environmental responsibility, teamwork, and performance.

• Verify sample accuracy before shipment

• Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Report unsafe conditions, accidents, and hazards immediately
• Support ISO quality and environmental compliance initiatives
• Complete special projects and other duties assigned by the Color Lab Supervisor
• Maintain high standards of safety, environmental responsibility, teamwork, and performance

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability and willingness to support the Color Lab team in a laboratory and manufacturing environment
• Previous experience in coatings, paint, manufacturing, laboratory, or related environments is preferred but not required
• Ability to safely handle and transfer coating and laboratory materials
• Ability to pour and transfer products from large containers into smaller containers
• Ability to prepare, solidify, and package products and samples according to established procedures
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions and procedures
• Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver containers weighing up to 65 lbs
