Job Description

Inova Central Lab is seeking a dedicated Lab Technician Assistant 2 PSC (LTA 2 PSC) to join our team located at 8078 Crescent Park Dr, Gainesville VA #201, 20155. This is a part-time position, day shift, from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, Monday through Friday, including every other weekend.

Responsibilities

• Perform procedures for obtaining, preparing, and packaging specimens for transport, ensuring acceptability per policy.
• Provide containers with preservatives and instructions, verify collection techniques, and document accordingly.
• Maintain a clean, organized department, notify shortages, and complete documentation accurately each shift.
• Participate in continuing education, attend meetings, and complete required training and reviews.
• Handle special procedure specimens per policy, including pathology, urine, cultures, and chain of custody collections.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Completion of Phlebotomy training with certification, or related Allied Health Training such as Medical Assistant, MLT, or MT.
• At least 6 months experience in an Inova PSC or 1 year in a Patient Service Center environment, or successful completion of Inova Phlebotomy School.
• Basic Life Support certification within three months of employment.
