PPG is seeking a Lab Technician for the 3rd shift to conduct investigations, product benchmarking, and applications testing on paints and coatings. The ideal candidate will possess a scientific degree and effective communication skills while being self-motivated and capable of independent work. As a Lab Technician working 3rd Shift, you will conduct complaint investigations, product benchmarking, and applications testing on paints, stains, adhesives and sealants used by homeowners, business owners and professional painters and contractors in the United States and Canada (USCA).

Complaint investigations –investigate product complaints using defined test protocols, document and report results.
Product benchmarking- conduct internal and external product testing, document and report results.
Applications testing - complete hands-on application testing.
Ensure that proper safety attitudes, procedures, and housekeeping are maintained on all work programs and conduct work in a manner that protects self, co-workers, the environment, and the safety of the community.
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment following established experiment protocols, with limited supervision.
Participate in the quality process and maintain requirements for the laboratory.
A Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field and/or 1-3 years’ lab experience is preferred but not required.
Prior experience with paint and/or coatings is preferred.
Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
Must be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite.
Effective oral and written communication skills in English are required.
