Responsibilities:
  • Perform high and moderate complexity tests authorized by the laboratory director, responsible for sample management, test performance, quality control, result review, and equipment maintenance.
  • Follow procedures for specimen handling, processing, testing, and record-keeping.
  • Maintain records demonstrating proficiency testing and adhere to quality control policies.
  • Identify and correct problems affecting test performance or report them to management.
  • Participate in operational excellence initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Technical/Functional Expertise:
  • Ability to read and follow SOPs and maintain accurate records.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with computers and relevant software.
Leadership and Values:
  • Integrity, fairness, honesty, perseverance.
  • Patient-centered approach, building trust, reinforcing reputation, developing the business.
Decision-Making and Interaction:
  • Assess impact of deviations, implement preventive actions.
  • Effective communication across various educational backgrounds and levels.
Physical and Safety Requirements:
  • Stand for 6-8 hours, lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens, requiring glove use.
Education and Skills:

Required: Bachelor's degree in biomedical discipline or associate degree in laboratory science with laboratory training or experience. Certification preferred.

Compensation and Benefits:

Location: USA - AL - Hoover. Hourly wage: $18.85 - $29.62. Benefits include health insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and more.
