Job summary

On-Board Services is hiring a Lab Technician for a Rocky Hill, CT site. This contract role requires performing adhesives bonding, testing, data collection, and reporting in a modern lab environment with ISO 17025:2017 quality practices.

You will operate lab equipment, document results, and follow safety standards, with the ability to lift 50 pounds and stand most of the day. We offer benefits including 401k, dental, life, medical and vision insurance.

Responsibilities

• Dispense adhesives, bond parts, and test bond strength and physical properties.
• Evaluate, collect, and record data in laboratory notebooks.
• Organize and perform experiments using established procedures and report results.
• Enter data into charts/tables; operate lab equipment and measuring devices.
• Follow safety protocols and lab best practices around chemicals and equipment.
• Follow SOPs and ISO 17025:2017 quality protocols.
• Stand for long periods and lift at least 50 pounds.

Compensation: $22.00/hour

The candidate will be expected to perform the following functions with a high level of initiative and independence:

• Dispensing adhesives, Bonding parts, Testing bond strength & physical properties
• - Evaluate, collect, and record data
• . Participate in organizing and performing experiments using established procedures while summarizing and reporting results in a laboratory notebook.
• Computer data entry including charts and tables for communication of project results and details. Operate laboratory equipment and measuring devices.
• With guidance, candidate will be expected to follow safety protocols and lab best practices while working with chemicals and lab equipment.
• With guidance, candidate will be expected to follow quality protocols according to SOPs and ISO 17025:2017.
• The ability to stand while working in the laboratory throughout most of the day and the ability to lift at least fifty pounds.

Qualifications:

fast learner, team player, have good note taking skills and communication skills. The position involves repetitive movements with hands, attention to detail, and being safety conscious. Mechanical aptitude is plus along with good report writing skills and Microsoft Suite experience. Other attributes will include proficiency in project management, critical thinking, problem solving and handling adhesives and other chemicals.
