Chemistry lab technician for Physical Properties Testing within the Richmond R&D Analytical Department.
Responsibilities:
- Active participant in company safety culture.
- Conduct safe laboratory practices, and maintain understanding of and compliance with company, industry and government safety procedures and regulations.
- Primary analyst for Flashpoint, viscosity, and Insoluble material testing. Back up analyst on additional physical properties and elemental analysis tests.
- Maintain documentation and conformance with ISO 9001 and/or 17025 for assigned test areas.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience Minimums:
- High school graduate, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Demonstrated lab and/or chemistry training, experience, or aptitude.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related science.
- At least 2 years of experience working in an analytical chemistry laboratory.
- Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of safe laboratory practices and procedures.
- Ability to perform standardized laboratory procedures with intermediate to minimal supervision.
- Effectively manage multiple tasks and changing priorities to achieve completion within the agreed-on timeframe.
- Ability to collaborate cooperatively with fellow analysts, researchers, and stakeholders across clients organizational matrix to achieve business objectives.
- Effective oral and written communication skills. The ability to communicate information clearly in an engaging and convincing manner.
