Central Ozarks Medical Center in Missouri seeks a Laboratory Assistant to support our lab and radiology departments. You will prepare blood samples, help maintain safety and cleanliness, and assist in inventory and administrative tasks.
The role requires basic computer use, reading and communicating medical information, and a CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain it during probation. Travel to COMC locations may be required. We value reliability, teamwork, and commitment to patient care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications Requirements: Must be comfortable using computer hardware and software as well as computerized equipment. Must be motivated to serve the needs of patients and perform services to benefit people and Central Ozarks Medical Center. Must possess a sense of discipline to work in accordance with accepted medical standards. Must possess reading and verbal skills necessary to understand and communicate, regarding medical records and laboratory procedures. Must be CPR/BLS certified or become certified during probationary period and maintain certification throughout employment with COMC.
Education and/or experience: GED or High School diploma. Phlebotomy experience preferred.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, interpret and communicate lab testing. Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers and regulatory agencies.
Mathematical Skills: Knowledge of fundamental math, adding machine, calculator, and Microsoft office.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This includes moderate physical effort consisting of occasionally lifting or moving over 50 pounds of weight.
Travel Requirement: To fulfill the responsibility of the position travel to all COMC locations may be required. Employees should have valid Missouri driver’s license.

Knowledge of, and compliance with, HIPAA and 340B regulations is required. Confidentiality of patient information is mandatory.
