Job summary

Central Ozarks Medical Center in Camdenton, MO, seeks a Medical Assistant/LPN to join our team. You will support clinical operations, perform vitals, review patient history, and assist the Medical Director within licensing guidelines.

We value patient confidentiality, quality care, and dependable teamwork. Eligible candidates should have a relevant MA program, CPR, and comfort with EHR systems; travel to COMC locations may be required.

Qualifications

  • CPR certification required or obtained during probation.
  • High school diploma or GED; completion of an accredited medical assisting program.
  • Experience with an electronic health record is preferred.
  • Good math, problem solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain supplies inventory and perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Verify patient information, collect history, and confirm visit purpose.
  • Prepare patients for examinations by taking vitals and recording history.
  • Safeguard medical records and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Maintain a safe, compliant work environment and adhere to policies.
  • Keep inventory stocked and place orders as needed.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and coordinate repairs when required.
  • Adhere to HIPAA, 340B, and all regulatory requirements.
  • Travel to COMC locations as needed.

We are expanding our team to serve the needs of our community in the Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri area! Central Ozarks Medical Center (COMC) is excited to announce an opening for a Medical Assistant/LPN (MA/LPN) for our Camdenton Clinic!

COMC is a Missouri non-profit, federally qualified health center that has served Pulaski, Laclede, Camden and Miller counties for over 40 years. Responsibilities

As designated by the Medical Director within the bounds of the licensing authority.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintains medical supplies inventory and performing preventative maintenance to keep medical equipment operating.
  • Verifies patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history, and confirming purpose of visit.
  • Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature; and reporting patient history summary.
  • Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; and keeping patient information confidential.
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
  • Keeps supplies ready by inventory stock, placing orders and verifying receipt.
  • Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventative maintenance and calling for repairs.
  • Serves and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards; facility policies and procedures; and federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Meets commitments, works independently, accepts accountability, handles change, sets personal standards, stays focused under pressure, and meets attendance/punctuality requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/ or ability required. Must be CPR certified or become certified during probationary period and maintain certification throughout employment with COMC. Must maintain CEUs as directed by COMC.

Education and/or experience

High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited medical assistance certification program. Experience with an electronic health record is preferred.

Language Skills: Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers and regulatory agencies.

Mathematical Skills: Knowledge of fundamental math, adding machine, calculator, and Microsoft office.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Other Skills and Abilities: Strong phone etiquette and excellent customer service skills.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This includes moderate physical effort consisting of occasionally lifting or moving over 50 pounds of weight.

Travel Requirement: To fulfill the responsibility of the position travel to all COMC locations will be required. Employee should have valid Missouri driver’s license. Overnight travel may also be required in specific incidences of training, conferences, etc.

Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Knowledge of, and compliance with, HIPAA and 340B regulations is required. Confidentiality of patient information is mandatory.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
