Job summary

Amrize is seeking a Lab Technician to join our quality lab team in Michigan. The role focuses on collecting and testing aggregate samples, calibrating equipment, and loading ships with spec products. You will enter data into the quality reporting system and uphold safety standards.

Qualifications include a two-year technical degree or five years in QC testing of construction materials; a four-year degree is preferred. Strong communication and basic MS Word/Excel skills are required.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Collect samples and perform routine testing of aggregate samples.
• Load ships with spec products and calibrate lab equipment.
• Enter data into the aggregate quality reporting system.
• Follow safety protocols and PPE requirements.
• Maintain QA records and basic statistical control charts.

About The Role

This is a full time opportunity working in the quality lab. Primary duties include collecting and testing aggregate samples while loading ships

What You'll Accomplish

• Perform all responsibilities safely
• Collecting samples
• Performing routine testing of aggregate samples (quartering samples, running gradations, washes, moistures and picking deleterious
• Entering data into the aggregate quality reporting system
• Calibrating lab equipment
• Loading Ships with spec products
• Filling in with Dozer relief
• Basic understanding of control charts

What We're Looking For

• Two-year technical degree required or five years in QC testing of constructionmaterials in lieu of education. Four-year college degree preferred.
• Basic computer skills including basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Basic math skills
• Basic knowledge of statistics
• Attend MDOT Certified Aggregate Technician program Excellent driving record
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills

Additional Requirements

Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
