Job summary

System One is seeking a Lab Technician for a 12-month contract in Madison Heights, MI. This on-site role runs M-F 8am-4:30pm, with compensation of $25.00-$27.00/hr. Potential for extension or conversion to permanent employment exists.

Responsibilities include operating and maintaining laboratory testing equipment, entering samples, evaluating techniques, collecting data per quality standards, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in science/technical field; 1–2 years lab experience preferred.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong teamwork and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, able to work independently.
• Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a demanding setting.
• Strong mathematical skills and clear written and verbal communication.
• Experience with basic lab tools and equipment (calipers, glassware).

Job Title: Lab Technician

Location: Madison Heights, MI

Work Model: On-site

Hours: M-F 8am-4:30pm

Compensation: $25.00 - $27.00/hr

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain all laboratory testing equipment associated with each test requirement within prescribed test parameters including light maintenance.
• Enter samples to be tested, perform evaluation techniques and ratings per established test methods and use a computer for data entry and report generation.
• Collect and record data accurately according to quality standards (standard checks/verifications).
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Requirements

• Associates degree (or Bachelor's) in a science or technical field preferred; minimum 1-2 years lab experience.
• Computer literate in Microsoft Office products - Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Must work well with others in a team environment.
• Must be detailed oriented, organized, self-motivated and capable of working independently.
• Must be capable of working on multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously within a demanding environment.
• Strong math skills as well as excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.
• Experience with basic tool manipulation including mixing equipment, lab glassware, calipers and other standard lab tools.
• The ability to stand while working in the laboratory throughout most of the day.
• Must be able to lift parts in and out of chambers up to 20-30lbs.
