Job summary

System One in Forest Park, GA is seeking a Quality Technician for a contract-to-hire onsite role. You will perform wet chemical analyses, prepare lab reagents, and maintain GMP-compliant practices while supporting manufacturing operations.

This position requires a degree in chemistry or related field, 1–3 years of lab experience, and proficiency with SAP, pH meters, and data recording. Shift is 6 PM–6 AM; compensation is $22.00/hr for onsite work.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, or related scientific discipline, or equivalent laboratory experience
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a laboratory, quality control, manufacturing, or chemical testing environment
  • Knowledge of wet chemistry techniques, reagent preparation and standardization, safety practices, and chemical handling
  • Ability to interpret SDS/MSDS, follow testing protocols and quality standards
  • Experience operating laboratory equipment including pH meters, analytical balances, viscometers, autotitrators, and SAP
  • Experience with data entry, SPC charting, and lab documentation
  • Familiarity with GMP/ISO/Lean/WCM and lab safety training

  • Demonstrate proper use of lab ware and perform finish case inspections
  • Support WCM processes and quality checks on packaging lines

Job description

Job Title: Quality Technician
Location: Forest Park, GA
Type: Contract To Hire
Compensation: $22.00/hr
Work Model: Onsite – onsite
Hours: 6 PM to 6 AM

Responsibilities
  • Perform wet chemical analyses
  • Prepare and standardize lab stock reagents as needed
  • Order, receive, stock and maintain inventory of chemicals, reagents and consumable supplies
  • Interpret MSDS information with respect to lab chemicals and finished products
  • Identify tests to perform based on product testing matrices
  • Record data in computer and/or logbooks and compose SPC charts for data analysis
  • Use of SAP to retrieve product specifications and test limits
  • Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to include scales, pH meters, viscometers, and autotitrators
  • Maintain housekeeping in the department as required
  • Support project work as necessary
  • Demonstrate the proper use of lab-ware including volumetric and non-volumetric, including menisci reading for graduated cylinder/burette/volumetric flasks
  • Conduct Finish Case Inspections and other Quality checks on Packaging Lines
  • Prepare and maintain Target/Reject bottles
  • Support WCM processes including Early Management, Daily Operations and other Pillars
Requirements
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline, or equivalent laboratory experience
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a laboratory, quality control, manufacturing, or chemical testing environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of wet chemistry techniques, reagent preparation and standardization, laboratory safety practices, and chemical handling procedures
  • Ability to interpret Safety Data Sheets (SDS/MSDS), follow testing protocols and product testing matrices, and comply with applicable safety and quality standards
  • Experience operating, calibrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting laboratory equipment including pH meters, analytical balances, viscometers, autotitrators, and related instrumentation
  • Proficiency with computer-based data entry, statistical process control (SPC) charting, laboratory documentation, and enterprise systems such as SAP
  • Strong understanding of laboratory glassware and measurement techniques, including accurate use of volumetric and non-volumetric equipment and proper meniscus reading
  • Experience managing laboratory inventory, ordering chemicals and supplies, and maintaining organized stock and storage areas
  • Ability to perform quality inspections, packaging line quality checks, finish case inspections, and maintain product standards through target/reject sample management
  • Experience in consumer products, food & beverage, pharmaceutical, chemical manufacturing, or similar regulated industries
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), ISO quality systems, Lean Manufacturing, or World Class Manufacturing (WCM) methodologies
  • Certification or training in laboratory safety, hazardous materials handling, statistical quality control, or quality assurance processes
