About the Role:

The Laboratory Technician is responsible for analysis and sampling duties to ensure process control and regulatory compliance. This involves preparing and analyzing samples, maintaining and calibrating equipment, and reporting data accurately. The technician will also prepare solutions, maintain QA/QC records, and participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions. Additional duties include updating ISO documentation, maintaining inventory, and ensuring proper operation of SO2 monitoring equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare and analyze samples for process control and environmental monitoring.
  2. Prepare and standardize solutions used in the laboratory and plant.
  3. Collect and report data to meet environmental and regulatory standards.
  4. Inspect, calibrate, and operate laboratory instruments and equipment.
  5. Maintain calibration records and ISO documentation.
  6. Update data spreadsheets and databases daily.
  7. Create corrective actions and participate in root cause analysis.
  8. Maintain QA/QC records for regulatory purposes.
  9. Inspect, calibrate, and operate SO2 monitoring equipment.
  10. Investigate and update analytical procedures as directed.
  11. Perform calculations, maintain records, and prepare reports.
  12. Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies.
  13. Collect environmental and process control samples and maintain sample sites.
  14. Keep instrumentation in working order through cleaning and minor repairs.
Materials and Equipment:

Handling chemicals, reagents, hazardous wastes, and samples. Using tools such as X-Ray Diffraction, GBC Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer, Waters HPLC, Gas Chromatograph, and various meters and analyzers.
