Technician support to the materials development engineers in several areas. The scope includes but is not limited to metallography (cut, mount, and polish test samples or engine parts), general microscopy (optical microscope, scanning microscope), and coating materials testing (hardness, erosion). Work may also include supporting projects for test coupon/material shipping logistics and frequently moving boxes weighing up to 20 pounds across office and lab for various needs.
