Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College is seeking a lab support role to maintain the School of Information Technology GRE labs in Gary and Calumet locations. You’ll oversee lab equipment, ensure inventory accuracy, assist faculty with PC setup and imaging, and support basic network tasks to keep classrooms ready for teaching.

The role emphasizes collaboration with staff on procurement and smooth delivery of equipment, contributing to a reliable, well-equipped learning environment.

Qualifications

• Technical Certificate(s) from an accredited institution with related work experience in installation, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and inventory.
• Preferred: Associate or higher degree directly related to the School’s programs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain GRE lab equipment, including accurate inventory.
• Assist faculty with PC setup, hard drive imaging, configuration, and upgrades.
• Perform basic network wiring, rack configuration, and troubleshoot lab computers.
• Coordinate procurement with the Administrative Assistant, manage quotes, purchases, and tagging.
• Coordinate equipment delivery from Shipping to labs/classrooms.

Job description

Provide support for installation, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and inventory of equipment, materials, and tools used in the School of Information Technology GRE labs in Gary and Calumet College of Saint Joseph locations Pay Range: $18/hr

Major Responsibilities

• Oversight and upkeep of School of Information Technology GRE lab equipment, including maintaining an accurate inventory;
• Assist faculty in PC setup, hard drive imaging, PC configuration, and upgrades;
• Execute network wiring and rack configuration, and provide basic troubleshooting for lab computers;
• Collaborate with the School’s Administrative Assistant on procurement processes, managing quotes, purchases, orders, back orders, and equipment tagging;
• Coordinate the delivery of equipment from Shipping and Receiving to designated laboratories or classrooms

Required Qualifications

• Technical Certificate(s) from a regionally and/or nationally accredited institution directly related to the School’s programs AND related work experience in installation, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and inventory of equipment, materials, and tools

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Possesses an earned Associate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution directly related to the School’s programs.
