Job summary

Volto Consulting seeks a Lab Technician in Cincinnati for a 6-month assignment. You will support tissue preparation, equipment setup, and daily lab operations, ensuring GDP-compliant documentation and accurate data entry in Excel.

You will follow C&S protocols, operate washers/autoclaves, and collaborate with engineers to meet shifting deadlines while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must understand tissue handling procedures and lab workflows.
• Proficient with creating and maintaining documentation per GDP.
• Able to operate and verify lab equipment.
• Capable of data entry and basic reporting in spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Read C&S protocols and procedures and understand the terminology of the process
• Initiate and monitor the life cycle of C&S processes
• Move devices through ultrasonic/ auto washers and autoclaves as directed by protocols
• Inspect devices for visual defects or differences after washing
• Record and enter data in Excel spreadsheets and written reports; periodically prepare cleaning solution batches
• Cross-train in other lab spaces to broaden skill sets
• Read procedures and operate lab equipment safely
• Troubleshoot and fix errors on lab equipment
• Identify if other technicians are following procedures correctly
• Communicate with clients/engineers effectively in writing and speaking
• Multi-task in a fast-paced environment and adapt to shifting deadlines

Must Have Technical/Functional Skills

• Tissue preparation and handling
• Lab setup and teardown procedures
• Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
• Equipment setup and verification
• MS Office proficiency (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Basic data recording and reporting

Role Descriptions

• Read C&S protocols and procedures and understand the terminology of the process
• Initiate and monitor the life cycle of C&S processes
• Move devices through ultrasonic| auto washers and autoclaves as directed by protocols
• Inspect devices for visual defects or differences after washing
• Record and enter data in Excel spreadsheets and written reports Periodically execute batch making of regularly used cleaning solutions
• Develop your skills by cross training in other lab spaces (e.g.| mechanical| materials| etc.)
• Read procedures on and understand how to operate the lab equipment
• Troubleshoot and fix errors on the lab equipment
• Identify if other technicians are following procedures correctly
• Ability to change or replace chemicals on machines and stations
• Communicate with clients/engineers effectively both written and verbal
• Multi-task in a fast-paced environment and work with client on shifting deadlines and duties as assigned

Roles & Responsibilities

• Read and understand Tissue Lab protocols and procedures for individual and team execution
• Perform daily lab activities including setup, tissue receipt, tissue preparation, equipment setup, and lab closure
• Read and follow procedures to safely operate lab equipment
• Become familiar with various tissue testing methods performed in the lab
• Perform tissue measurement, proper gluing, holding, and related responsibilities
• Record test data using good documentation practices in handwritten or electronic formats
• Cross-train in other lab areas such as mechanical and materials labs to broaden skill sets
• Set up lab equipment including fixtures and software and perform verification checks
• Configure lab spaces for different types of testing requirements
• Support preparation of complex data sheets and written test reports
• Perform additional duties as assigned
