Wollaston Alloys/CPP Boston is a stainless steel and high alloy sand casting foundry based in Braintree, MA for over 60 years. We manufacture components for the defense market and commercial markets such as power generation industries.

Wollaston Alloys/CPP Boston is seeking a driven individual to join our team as a Lab Technician. The Lab Technician is a crucial position within our facility. Essential Functions
  • Operate Spectrometer Equipment
  • Prepare and test metal samples
  • Record and report results
  • Ensure samples meet required chemical standards
  • Assist in identifying and correcting non-conformities
  • Read and interpret customer specifications, industry standards, quality control documents and work instructions.
  • Support Melt department pouring schedule
  • Input chemistry and related info into database/business system.
  • Perform calibration/verification of analyzing equipment
  • Clean and maintain the testing equipment used in the lab.
  • Report need of maintenance for equipment to supervisor
  • Observe all company rules and regulations
  • Perform other related duties as required or as directed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma. Vocational/Technical school preferred.
  • Strong mathematical and chemical aptitude.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Good interpersonal skills. Good verbal communication skills. Team oriented.
  • Flexible; self-motivated
  • Willing to work in a team environment atmosphere
  • Willing to cross train in other areas when down time occurs

Starting pay is $20 USD per hour. This is a non-management, full-time position.
