IHA is seeking a Lab Technical Assistant for the St Marys Hospital Histology Department in Athens, GA. This full-time, day-shift role supports Technical Staff with histology preparation and light clerical tasks.

Responsibilities include receiving, processing, and shipping specimens for consult, plus filing and general administrative duties. A strong attention to detail and good communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent; science degree preferred.
• Previous lab experience is preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Excellent communication and people skills.

What You Will Do

• The primary duty of the Technical Lab Assistant is to assist Technical Staff in any histo preparation work that they have been properly trained and competent in performing.
• Assist the hostology secretary by receiving, processing, and shipping specimens for consult.
• Filing and additional clerical duties
