Job summary

Univar Solutions in Houston, TX, is seeking a Lab Technical Services leader to guide the Custom Lab Services portfolio. You will drive product development, coordinate with marketing, sales and product management, and maintain KPIs while managing multiple projects in a hybrid, lab-focused environment.

The role requires a chemistry-related degree and 3+ years in R&D with lubrication/formulation knowledge; travel about 10% is expected. A Total Rewards package is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or related scientific field.
• Minimum of 3 years of research and development experience.
• Understanding of Lubricants & Metalworking Fluids raw materials and formulation.
• Knowledge of standard test methods and lab/manufacturing methodologies.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work with teams remotely.
• Travel approximately 10%.

Responsibilities

• Lead lab-based activity in a Solution Center with objectives, targets, and resource prioritization.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Sales and Product Management to develop new products from concept to customer.
• Drive new product development projects through conceptualization and innovation.
• Serve as the technical expert for the product portfolio.
• Develop prototypes to demonstrate ingredient function and support sales.
• Present new products at industry tradeshows and digital platforms.
• Prepare detailed results for review and monitor KPIs and revenue.
• Visit customers with sales/marketing/product teams to grow business.
