Job summary

National Vision Holdings, Inc. is seeking production associates for Surface and Inventory departments at our Plano, TX facility to support lens processing and order fulfillment across multiple labs.

No formal education is required; entry level candidates are welcome, with preferred experience in mass production, machine operation, picking orders, or inventory. English reading and writing ability is required to communicate with team and complete documentation.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and write English.
• Entry level acceptable; prior mass production, machine operation, picking orders, or inventory experience is preferred.
• Experience in optical manufacturing is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Surface: coating, blocking/deblocking, machine operation, lens washing.
• Inventory: printing orders, prepping trays, picking frames and lenses, scanning, stocking, and quality checks.

Job Description

Our associates are responsible for performing a variety of duties, depending on their assigned department and lab needs. Production techs help expedite job orders throughout the manufacturing process in a timely and efficient manner in order to serve our customers.

Associates observe data on job orders, sort and organize jobs, utilize RF scanning and perform other department specific tasks.

We have production positions available in our Surface and Inventory Departments.

Surface

• Backside coating – making sure lens is clean, spraying, wiping lens and loading in machine
• Blocking and Deblocking, block prep
• Machine operation, taping, generating, polishing
• Lens washing – removing lens from block, rinsing, washing and drying lens to remove debris

Inventory

• Printing orders and prepping job trays
• Picking frames and lenses by locating the bin number on the Rx, scanning the barcode and tray and frame
• Removing lenses from manufacturer's box, placing on the correct side of the tray for processing
• Pre‑inspecting lenses for visual imperfections
• Ensuring orders are sent to the correct departments within the lab
• Assisting with restocking, inventory counts

Qualifications

• No specific education required
• No specific experience required for entry level but prior mass production, machine operation, picking orders, inventory or warehouse experience is preferred
• Prior related or optical experience desirable
• Must be able to read and write English
