Job summary

Udder Health Systems is a bovine diagnostic laboratory serving the dairy industry across the county. The Lab Tech position in Jerome Milk Quality Lab will assist Lab Analysts in providing the following support:

Receive and rack samples, data entry, sample setup and plating prep, restocking field inventory items, and handling lab media orders. You may drive a company vehicle for sample pickup up to 6 hours daily. A full benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• Must have a working knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and be familiar with database systems.
• Ability to work autonomously in a busy lab environment.
• Some education in life sciences preferred; lab experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive and rack samples (milk, water, towels, bedding, etc.).
• Data entry of sample information.
• Sample setup; plating prep; plating samples.
• Restocking field inventory items.
• Receive and unpack lab media orders.
• Receive shipping; unpack and place in inventory.
• Clean freezers, racks, autoclaving in accordance with lab maintenance guidelines.
• Sample pick up up to 6 hours per day (driving company vehicle).
• Field supply organization and prep.
