Job summary

Elite O&P in Eatontown, NJ is seeking a skilled Orthotic Technician to join our fabrication team. You will fabricate and modify custom orthotic devices, work with thermoplastic materials and related parts, and support patient fitting and delivery.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, precise hand skills, and the ability to collaborate with clinicians to meet functional and clinical requirements. Training is possible for the right candidate with mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and modify custom orthotic devices per clinical specifications.
• Work with thermoplastic materials, EVA, foams, straps, padding, and other orthotic materials.
• Fabricate and finish custom AFOs, SMOs, UCBLs, foot orthoses, knee braces, spinal orthoses, and other devices.
• Perform trimming, grinding, sanding, heating, molding, padding, strapping, and finishing procedures.
• Make adjustments and modifications to existing orthoses to improve fit and function.
• Perform repairs and refurbishment of orthotic devices.
• Assist with preparation of devices for patient fitting and delivery.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe fabrication environment.
• Follow established fabrication specifications and quality-control procedures.
• Work closely with the clinical staff to ensure devices meet patient requirements.
• Maintain appropriate inventory of fabrication materials and supplies.
• Assist with other laboratory and office responsibilities as needed.
