Job summary

Lambstaffing is seeking a Histology Tech for a lab in Atlanta, GA. The candidate will handle tissue processing, embedding, sectioning and staining, and will accession specimens into Cerner.

Requirements include a formal histology training program or an associate's in sciences, plus ASCP HT/HLT and state licensure where applicable. Eligibility for 2+ years in pathology labs is expected.

Qualifications

• Min 2 years of experience in pathology laboratory.
• ASCP HT/HLT certification preferred or required.
• Formal histology technologist training or relevant Associate's degree.

Responsibilities

• Receive specimens from surgery and accession into Cerner.
• Process tissue: embedding, cutting, and staining of slides.
• Collect blocks and prepare slides for pathology review.

Schedule 5a-130p M-F 705A Histology Lab - Histology Tech 993C Johnson Ferry Road Atlanta, Georgia 30342

Min of 2 years of experience within specialty (Pathology Laboratory) Required - ASCP (HT/HLT) Successful completion of a formal histology technologist training program, or an Associate's degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences. Pathology, Cytology and IHC are all in Dept. 705- receiving specimens from surgery, accessioning specimen into Cerner, collection of blocks from PA staff, processing tissue, embedding, cutting, staining of slides.

Holiday Expectations: MUST work 2 major Holidays of the 3: Thanksgiving Day Christmas Day New Year's Day AND 1 Minor Holiday: The Friday after Thanksgiving Christmas Eve New Year's Eve

Active state medical laboratory license + ASCP credential; minimum 1 year of recent experience in the specialty; references on request
