Job summary

Stratas Foods in Quincy, IL is seeking a lab technician to conduct analytical testing of vegetable oils in a manufacturing facility. You will record data electronically, keep the lab organized, and support production with timely testing.

Job Description

Conduct analytical testing of various vegetable oils using Stratas SOPs in a manufacturing facility. Recording corresponding data electronically. Clean and organize laboratory in a food manufacturing environment.

Testing of samples at various points in the process: production samples, inbound and outbound truck samples.

Responsibilities:

1. Communicate to management when test results indicate that corrective action is necessary

2. Prioritize oil samples as they arrive in the laboratory

3. Complete analytical testing and paperwork in a timely manner

4. Enter all analysis into data base (TLC)

5. Learn procedures as necessary

6. Develop a thorough understanding of laboratory processes and procedures

7. Attend all training and safety meetings as scheduled

Qualifications

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent - Required & Verified

Related Experience:

Experience with food safety a plus. Previous laboratory experience helpful, but not required.

Additional Information

Salary Range: $45,760 - $48,880 / Annually

Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs, bend, kneel, stand for extended periods, work in confined spaces, and work at heights

Sensory: Visual, speaking, and touch is essential.

Mental/Reasoning: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Successful Candidates: possess basic computer/technology skills, capacity for memorizing and executing a multitude of processes, willingness to learn or knowledge of food safety in manufacturing environment, willingness to learn to operate laboratory devices and machinery, able to work weekends and overtime when required.
