Job summary

Hancock Health in Greenfield, IN seeks a skilled phlebotomist to join our Blood Bank and Microbiology teams. You will assist with blood collections and load analyzers, including manual programming, while expanding duties to molecular tests and kit tests.

Expanded responsibilities include plating cultures, loading analyzers, and calling critical values to nursing staff and providers. Candidates must communicate effectively with patients and staff and maintain high accuracy under fluctuating

• Accountable to section supervisors and lead techs for work performed in different areas.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Expanded duties include setting up molecular tests, plating cultures, kit tests, loading analyzers in Blood Bank and Microbiology, manually program analyzers prior to loading samples and calling critical values to the nursing staff/providers. Must be a skilled phlebotomist to assist in blood collections as needed.

• Expert phlebotomy and customer service skills

• Provides an excellent experience for patients when collecting blood and other specimens

• Must maintain high degree of accuracy while simultaneously performing a variety of tasks
• May be required to work at the hospital or one of offsites
• Requires accurate color perception
• Capable of consistent, independent judgement under fluctuating workload pressure
• May involve variable work hours and weekend/holiday rotation
• Accountable to section supervisors, lead techs and technologists for work performed in different areas
