Job summary

Singing River Health System Gulfport Hospital is seeking a Technician Assistant to join the Laboratory team. Under supervision, you will receive and distribute specimens, perform routine urinalysis (excluding microscopy), and prepare specimens for dispatch to reference labs.

You will assist in pre-analytical and post-analytical processes, maintain quality control and preventive maintenance in Specimen Control, and work in a fast-paced environment with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a laboratory setting preferred.
• Clerical and medical terminology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive and distribute specimens to the Specimen Control area or via pneumatic tube.
• Perform routine urinalysis (excluding microscopy) and prepare specimens for dispatch to reference laboratories.
• Conduct Quality Control and preventive maintenance procedures for Specimen Control with documentation.
• Assist in pre-analytical and post-analytical laboratory processes.
