Responsibilities

• Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA, and the Georgia Department of Community Health regulations.
• Performs venipunctures and prepares blood specimens following Piedmont policies and procedures.
• Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School graduate or GED.
• Experience: At least one (1) year as a phlebotomist, laboratory processor, or laboratory assistant. Enrollment in a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician program can substitute for experience.
• Licensure/Certification: None required by law.
• Additional Skills: Knowledge of clinical laboratory processes preferred. Experience with EKGs and in healthcare or clinical laboratory settings is advantageous.
