Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics is seeking a Lab Tech 1 in Phoenix to perform diagnostic tests on blood, urine, and tissue samples. You will operate automated analyzers, read results, and ensure accuracy per SOPs while maintaining a clean workspace.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Process and perform diagnostic tests on biological samples using analyzers and microscopes.
• Set up, run and release lab results per SOPs.
• Perform routine maintenance of analyzers weekly and monthly.
• Accession samples and manage specimen storage and shipment preparation.
• Follow QC and EHS standards and record laboratory logs.
• Troubleshoot sample integrity issues and respond to inquiries via Salesforce tickets.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace and proper waste disposal.
• Handle email correspondence professionally and promptly and work as a team.

Job description

Job Title: Lab Tech 1

Schedule: Tues–Fri 9:00pm–5:30am; Sat 7:00pm–3:30am

Responsibilities:

• Process and perform diagnostic tests on blood, urine, fecal, or histology samples using automated analyzers and microscopes.
• Set up and run lab tests; read and release results per ZRL SOPs.
• Perform daily/weekly/monthly analyzer maintenance.
• Accession samples and manage specimen storage/tracking; package/unpackage for shipments.
• Follow QC standards and EHS practices.
• Troubleshoot sample integrity issues and respond to customer concerns via Salesforce ticketing.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace.
• Handle and dispose of medical/biohazardous waste per regulations.
• Complete laboratory logs (maintenance, environmental, cleaning).
• Manage email correspondence professionally and promptly.
• Be a team player with a positive attitude.

Education/Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent (BS/BA preferred).
• 1+ years’ clinical laboratory experience.

Skills:

• Strong attention to detail; collaboration.

• Strong written/oral communication; English fluency.
• Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
