Qualifications

Lab Tech

Our client, a leader in environmental and industrial services, is seeking a Lab Tech to join their team. As a Lab Tech, you will be part of the Laboratory Operations supporting wastewater treatment and environmental compliance. The ideal candidate will have attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and adaptability, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Lab Tech | Contract to Hire

Location: Detroit, MI | Onsite

Pay Range: 21-23/HR (Depending on experience)

What's the Job?

• Collect field samples of wastewater, sludge, and polymers from various process areas of the plant and outfall
• Perform chemical, microbiological, toxicological, and physical analyses, including reagent and media preparation, instrument operation, calibration, and maintenance
• Become knowledgeable in laboratory analyses and treatment processes to support operational efficiency
• Train new hires in process analyses and sampling procedures to ensure team competency
• Contribute to record-keeping, reporting of laboratory data, regulatory submissions, and operational reports

What's Needed?

• Associate Degree or higher from an accredited college or university in chemistry, engineering, or a related science
• Valid Michigan Driver’s License
• Ability to work in an industrial setting supporting 24-hour operations
• Flexibility to work day and night shifts on a rotating schedule
• Physical ability to climb, bend, lift a minimum of 50 pounds, and perform long periods of standing or walking
