Job summary

IntePros is seeking an R&D Metrology Technician to support development and commercialization of new medical wire coating applications. You will test and analyze coating processes, document results, and collaborate across R&D, Engineering, Planning, Manufacturing and Quality teams.

Experience with materials testing and ISO 13485/GMP environments is valued. Responsibilities include performing product characterization tests, following established QA procedures, and contributing to

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a 2-year degree or equivalent; a bachelor’s degree is a plus.
  • Relevant work experience required; materials testing lab experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong computer and communication skills.
  • High proficiency with MS Office tools, especially MS Teams and MS Excel.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and participate on the R&D team to develop and execute process development plans.
  • Complete sample testing for product characterization using available testing equipment.
  • Perform testing for product characterization on various in-house equipment.
  • Communicate data and related analysis in a timely manner.
  • Support day-to-day development plans under the direction of process development engineers and the R&D Director.
  • Participate in weekly meetings to understand top priorities.
  • Apply ASTM standards for QC testing methods and inspections using various equipment and measuring devices, including an Instron Tensile Tester, Bruker Hysitron Nanoindenter, and Anton Paar Pin-on-Disk Tribometer.
  • Author test method documentation and participate in the test method validation process.
  • Operate within an established quality documentation system, including executing test methods per procedure, collecting and documenting test results, and writing test data reports and procedures.
  • Follow Quality Management System requirements in an ISO 13485 / GMP manufacturing environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

The successful candidate will assume responsibility for testing and analysis of the development process for new PTFE and non-PTFE coatings. Deliverables will include documentation and reporting of test results. Primary responsibilities include testing new coating process development samples in the QC lab. Additional duties include supporting day-to-day process development runs in collaboration with R&D, Engineering, Planning, Manufacturing, and Quality teams. Support for coating formulation preparation may also be required.
