Job summary

AmSpec Services in Everett, MA is seeking a laboratory technician responsible for testing samples for quantitative analysis, quality control, and process control, and for general maintenance of lab equipment.

You will receive work orders, perform analyses to industry standards, record results, prepare reports, support QA/QC testing, maintain instruments, and comply with safety and pre-employment drug testing.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, some college preferred.
• Basic computer, math, and science skills.
• Ability to grasp new procedures and work independently after training.
• Excellent communication with employees, outside consultants, and management.
• Strong understanding of safety and training issues.

Responsibilities

• Receive, review and understand work orders for all samples.
• Perform required analyses according to customer and industry standards and requirements.
• Document each test result neatly and accurately.
• Prepare corresponding analytical reports.
• Perform QA/QC testing and assist with control charts.
• Maintain laboratory instruments, equipment and supplies.
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
• Safety sensitive position with pre-employment, random and annual drug and alcohol testing.
