Job summary

Qualifications

• Two years of college or a completed AA with an emphasis in chemistry, biology, or physics or equivalent in education, training, and experience.
• One year of related experience, or equivalent in education, training and experience.
• Copath experience preferred.
• Must work in an organized manner and have attention for details.
• Must be able to walk up to 5 miles per day.
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
• Must be able to wear a full-face respirator.
• Must communicate well, written and oral.
• Must successfully complete systems training requirements.

Responsibilities

• Transport items throughout the medical center, including requisitions, reports, slides, blocks, and surgical specimens.
• File, track, and retrieve items including requisitions, reports, slides, and blocks.
• Specimen dumping, wastes disposal of tissues and formaldehyde.
• Perform other duties as necessary to the functioning of the unit.
• Maintain logs and counts of cassettes, blocks, and slides; off-site storage and retrieval.
