Mercy is seeking a Lab Support Technician I–IV at Pauls Valley, OK, to join the Mercy Clinic Primary Care team. You will support reports, data, and scheduling in the laboratory and provide excellent customer service to patients and staff.

Full-time, 40 hours per week. The role requires a high school diploma or GED; phlebotomy experience is preferred, CPT certification is a plus, and candidates must complete facility competencies for advancement.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, GED, or current enrollment in a healthcare career program.
• Experience: None required. Six months of phlebotomy or clinical laboratory experience strongly preferred.
• Certifications: CPT preferred.
• Other: Complete facility competencies for advancement to next higher job description.

The Laboratory Support Technician is part of the provider care team acting in a support capacity for reports, data and scheduling functions of the laboratory. This position is responsible for accurate, timely and effective provision of laboratory support mechanisms. The LST will be required to exhibit excellent customer service skills in line with the Mercy Signature Service Standards with all customer interactions. The LST is responsible for the skillful acquisition of all required types of specimens, as required, for laboratory testing utilizing safe, accurate, effective, professional methodologies while observing HIPAA confidentiality requirements and lab policies. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma, GED equivalent, or current enrollment in a healthcare career program through their high school curriculum.
• Experience: None required. Six months of phlebotomy or clinical laboratory experience strongly preferred.
• Certifications: None required. Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) preferred.
• Other: The LST position must satisfactorily complete the specific facility competencies, including but not limited to checklist, written examination, management observation, etc., to be eligible for advancement to the next higher job description.
