Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Laboratory Support Technician (LST III) to support reports, data and scheduling for the laboratory. You will provide accurate, timely laboratory support while delivering excellent customer service and maintaining HIPAA confidentiality.

Based at Mercy Family Medicine & Obstetrics in Rogers, AR, this full-time role runs Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm. Responsibilities include specimen collection, processing, transport, and limited testing, with opportunities for growth within

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year phlebotomy or clinical laboratory experience.
• Previous Mercy LST II designation or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Accurately collect specimens using approved methods.
• Process, transport and refer laboratory specimens and reports as required.
• Perform limited laboratory testing and assist technologists as needed.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and align with Mercy standards.

The Laboratory Support Technician (LST III) is part of the provider care team acting in a support capacity for reports, data and scheduling functions of the laboratory. This position is responsible for accurate, timely and effective provision of laboratory support mechanisms. The LST III will be required to exhibit excellent customer service skills in line with the Mercy Signature Service Standards with all customer interactions. The LST III is responsible for the skillful acquisition of all required types of specimens for laboratory testing utilizing safe, accurate, effective, professional methodologies while observing HIPAA confidentiality requirements and lab policies as required. The LST III will be responsible for all processing, transport and referral of all types of laboratory specimens and reports as required. The LST III is responsible for limited laboratory testing and for assisting technologists in all appropriate test methods as required.Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Employment Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday - Friday (8:00a - 5:00p)

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: One year phlebotomy or clinical laboratory experience. Previous Mercy LST II designation or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: College level chemistry, Biology or other Science courses
• Experience: Phlebotomy preceptor experience.
