Overview:

The Lab Support Technician (LST I) is part of the provider care team, supporting reports, data, and scheduling functions of the laboratory. This role is responsible for providing accurate, timely, and effective laboratory support. The LST I must exhibit excellent customer service skills consistent with the Mercy Signature Service in all interactions. Responsibilities include acquiring laboratory specimens for testing using safe, accurate, and professional methods while observing HIPAA confidentiality and lab policies. The role also involves processing, transporting, and referring laboratory specimens and reports as required. To achieve competency, the LST I will be observed by laboratory management or designee and must complete all departmental checklists. All duties should be performed in alignment with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma, G.E.D., or enrollment in a healthcare career program through high school.
