Job summary

KMRG, LLC in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Scientific Laboratory Support Technician to provide onsite technical and operational laboratory support to the FDA’s Atlanta Human and Animal Food Laboratory. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 6 months of experience in a laboratory, industrial, custodial, manufacturing, food-processing, or similarly structured work environment.
• Ability to follow written procedures, safety protocols, and detailed instructions.
• Basic familiarity with cleaning, sanitizing, or handling laboratory glassware.
• Ability to use simple measuring, monitoring, or recording tools.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and complete required checklists.
• Ability to work independently after receiving required training.
• Ability to communicate problems, unsafe conditions, and unusual findings promptly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare media, solutions, reagents, and standards for laboratory use.
• Sterilize materials and operate autoclaves following SOPs.
• Assist with aseptic and non-aseptic sample preparation and handling.
• Wash glassware and maintain clean work areas and equipment.
• Collect and dispose of laboratory waste according to procedures.
• Maintain records for sterilization, monitoring, and equipment use.
• Support safety checks, temperature mapping, and quality documentation.
• Follow written procedures and ensure an inspection-ready laboratory.
