Job summary

Parkview Health is seeking a Lab Support Services Technician to join the Lab Team in Fort Wayne, IN. You will perform blood collection, specimen processing, and ensure accurate labeling and delivery for testing, upholding patient safety and regulatory standards.

This role collaborates with nurses, providers, and couriers, with opportunities for growth within Laboratory Support Services and certification training as needed.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy and specimen collection across patient populations.
• Proficiency with laboratory information systems to track specimens.

Responsibilities

• Performs blood collection on all patient populations using a variety of procedures.
• Uses positive patient identification devices to monitor orders and pending draws.
• Assists with difficult collections and identifies alternative procedures.
• Collects additional specimens as required per established protocols.
• Interacts compassionately with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
