Job summary

SSM Health is seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform standard lab tasks under supervision, including phlebotomy and waived testing. The role supports clerical duties in the laboratory and contributes to patient care and safety.

The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent (or 10 years of work experience) and at least one year in a lab setting, with BLS certification preferred. Evening/morning shifts and regular schedule offered.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED, or 10 years of work experience.
• At least 1 year of laboratory setting experience.
• BLS HealthCare Provider certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform loading/unloading of lab specimens and waived testing.
• Assist with problem requisitions/specimens and orientation of new hires.
• Respond to phone inquiries and assist customers/patients.
• Collect, label, process and preserve specimens per procedures.
• Enter and track lab orders in EMR systems; maintain supplies and area.
