Laboratory Support Associate
Pay Rate: $28.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM (8-hour shift)
Position Summary
The Laboratory Support Associate supports daily laboratory operations through inventory management, material handling, procurement, and general lab services. The role ensures supplies are available, organized, and handled safely while supporting glassware washing, autoclaving, cryogenic materials, and compressed gas management.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform glassware collection, washing, drying, and redistribution.
- Operate and maintain autoclaves and document sterilization cycles.
- Maintain clean, organized lab support, storage, and staging areas.
- Stock and organize laboratory consumables.
- Fulfill media requests and support reagent pickup, receiving, and delivery.
- Ensure proper labeling, storage, and handling of laboratory materials.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of lab supplies, consumables, PPE, solvents, and other materials.
- Conduct cycle counts and inventory audits; maintain accurate records.
- Create and manage purchase orders and track deliveries.
- Follow up with vendors and internal stakeholders on delayed or outstanding orders.
- Track inventory usage, order fulfillment, stockouts, and vendor performance.
- Maintain operational reports and dashboards.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and cost management.
- Follow laboratory safety procedures for chemicals, cryogenics, compressed gases, and other materials.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in laboratory support, inventory, or operations.
- Experience with inventory management and procurement systems.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, stocking, and moving cylinders.
- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
- Experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, or research laboratory environments.
- Familiarity with autoclaves, glass wash systems, and cryogenic materials.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety regulations and GMP practices.
- Experience tracking and reporting operational metrics.
