Job summary

The University of California, Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital is seeking a Microbiology, Immunology/Virology, and Parasitology Supervisor to oversee daily lab operations and provide technical support. The role focuses on QA/QC across multiple labs and requires collaboration with clinicians and researchers to validate new tests.

You will also help review and update SOPs, mentor staff, and work with the R&D Supervisor on research projects.

Qualifications

• Experience in a human or veterinary clinical diagnostic Microbiology, Parasitology, or Immunology/Virology lab.
• Experience monitoring QA/QC programs.
• Experience supervising or leading technical staff.
• Skills to recruit, hire, train, coach, evaluate, assign tasks, and motivate staff.
• Ability to develop and maintain SOPs and modify procedures as needed.

Responsibilities

• Clinical service support across Microbiology, Parasitology, and Immunology/Virology labs.
• Oversee QA/QC programs and ensure compliance.
• Supervise or lead technical staff and coordinate tasks.
• LIS support and maintenance of lab information systems.
