Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Hematology Lab Supervisor to lead a team of about 20 professionals, overseeing quality across analytical and post-analytical testing phases. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on coaching, problem-solving, and technical guidance rather than bench work.

You will supervise staff, drive continuous improvement, ensure equipment performance, and act as a primary contact for physicians and clients regarding results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science field.
• 4+ years clinical laboratory experience.
• ASCP or AMT certification.
• Florida State clinical laboratory licensure (Supervisor level).
• Specialized knowledge of electrophoresis and ANA testing.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise approximately 20 staff, including scheduling, daily huddles, and ongoing staff development.
• Coach, mentor, and grow your team, building a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Stay visible and engaged on the floor, supporting staff through day-to-day operations.
• Oversee quality control of automated processes.
• Ensure proper maintenance and performance of laboratory equipment and instrumentation (analytical phase).
• Apply specialized expertise in electrophoresis and ANA platforms to troubleshoot issues and guide technical decisions.
• Serve as a knowledgeable point of contact for physicians and clients on results and inquiries (post-analytical phase).
• Communicate complex technical information professionally, clearly, and with confidence.
• Consistently meet and exceed customer expectations.

The Opportunity
We're looking for a Hematology Lab Supervisor who leads from the front. In this role, you'll guide a team of approximately 20 laboratory professionals, oversee quality across the analytical and post-analytical phases of testing, and serve as a trusted resource for physicians and clients. This is a hands-on leadership role: you'll be in the arena with your team every day, bringing deep technical knowledge to coaching, problem-solving, and quality oversight rather than working the bench yourself.

Qualifications

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in science field of study
• 4+ years of clinical laboratory experience
• ASCP or AMT certification
• Florida State clinical laboratory licensure (Supervisor level)
• Specialized knowledge of electrophoresis and ANA testing, with the ability to speak the technical language fluently
• Strong leadership, communication, and customer-service skills
