Job summary

Methodist Hospital Stone Oak, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a Lab Supervisor to support the Manager in daily lab operations at Stone Oak. Responsibilities include supervising personnel, overseeing QC/QA and proficiency testing, and driving method development and evaluation of laboratory protocols.

Qualified candidates will have an Associate or Bachelor degree in a relevant science, plus MLS/CLT/CLS/MLT credentials or 15+ years of lab experience for waiver.

Qualifications

• Degree(s) required in chemical, physical, biological science or medical laboratory technology.
• MLS/CLT/CLS/MLT certification required or waived after 15+ years of lab experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist manager with day-to-day lab operations and staffing.
• Develop and monitor quality control, quality assurance, and proficiency testing.
• Oversee equipment maintenance, supplies, and inventories.
• Develop and evaluate laboratory methodologies and protocols.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Laboratory Supervisor assists Manager with the day to day operations of the section/department which includes: managing personnel, developing and monitoring quality control, quality assurance and proficiency testing programs; developing and evaluating laboratory methodologies, protocols and techniques; overseeing care, maintenance, and utilization of department equipment, supplies, and inventories

What qualifications you will need:

• Associate Degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institutionOR-
• Bachelor Degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution
• Preferred: Supervisory experience
• Required: ONE of the following certifications: (MLS) Medical Laboratory Scientist, or (CLT/CLS) Clinical Laboratory Technologist/Scientist, or (MLT) Medical Laboratory Technician
• Certification is waived for those with 15+ years of lab experience (per CLIA 1988 guidelines)
