Job summary

West Boca Medical Center is seeking a results-driven Laboratory Supervisor to lead a section of the laboratory, develop goals with the Lab Director, and ensure accurate and timely clinical results.

The role emphasizes leadership across LIS systems, networked PCs, and compliance, with direct collaboration with Hospital Information Systems and vendors. Strong education and Florida license prerequisites apply.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree in medical technology or related life sciences.
• Current Florida Supervisor License (or eligible) in the respective specialty(s) and national certifications are desirable.
• Minimum five years of experience in a clinical laboratory and LIS familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Leads, coordinates, and supervises a section of the laboratory.
• Develops short and long range goals with the Lab Director to improve patient care and lab operations.
• Ensures accurate and timely clinical lab results and provides leadership on LIS and networked systems.
• Maintains compliance program implementation, communication, and monitoring.
• Serves as a technical resource with HIS and external vendors.

Job Summary

Job Type: Full Time
Up to $20,000 SOB for qualified candidates, paid over 24 months.

Leads, coordinates, and supervises a section of the laboratory. Develops both short and long range goals in conjunction with the Lab Director to improve laboratory patient care services. Consistently demonstrates commitment and accountability for the primary responsibility of providing accurate and timely clinical lab results. Provides direction and leadership in laboratory computer applications and development. Provides advice and counsel to lab management regarding the application of computer techniques; assists in decision making processes. Responsible for operations, maintenance, and software updates on the L.I.S., Lab PC's, and networked systems. Demonstrates commitment and accountability for implementation, communication, and monitoring of the Compliance Program.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates commitment and accountability for providing accurate electronic transfer of data, back-up and retention of same.
• Reviews reports and addresses issues to improve service to customers
• Communicates Effectively and serves as technical resource person for respective sections
• Works with a minimum amount of supervision and functions as a liaison with Hospital Information Systems (H.I.S.) and computer vendors.
• Leads by example to ensure the growth of company and individuals

Qualifications

Education
Baccalaureate degree in medical technology or one of the chemical or biological sciences and three (3) years or greater experience on the Laboratory's current L.I.S.

License/Certification
Must hold a current Florida Supervisor License (or eligible) in the respective specialty(s): ASCP Specialty Certification., AABB, NCA, or equivalent national certification is highly desirable.

Minimum Experience
Five (5) years

WBMC offers general medical and surgical care, orthopedics, a robotic surgery program, a state-of-the art breast imaging center, womens and childrens services and the only level III NICU in southern Palm Beach County.
