Job summary

Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO, is seeking a Lab Associate to handle specimen receipt, processing, and phlebotomy tasks in the Central Receiving area. The role includes evening shifts (12pm–8:30pm) and a 40-hour workweek with weekend/holiday rotation.

Strong phlebotomy experience and familiarity with specimen receiving are preferred, and HS Diploma or GED is required. Join a team committed to patient care and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Performs non-blood and blood specimen collection.
• Handles specimen handling/routine processing and clerical duties.
• Phlebotomy experience strongly preferred.
• Prior experience with specimen receiving preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy, proper patient identification and specimen collection with care.
• Coordinate multiple tasks to meet STAT orders and turnaround times.
• Interacts with lab, clinical and other ancillary departments.
