Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Admit patients and process specimens and orders in LIS.
• Ensure proper patient identification and labeling of all specimens; reject improper specimens as needed.
• Operate pneumatic tube system and prioritize routine vs. stat specimens.
• Centrifuge and aliquot specimens per tests ordered; label tubes accurately.
• Deliver specimens to correct laboratory areas; store specimens properly.
• Communicate test results to physicians; fax results on request.
• Follow regulatory and infection control guidelines; perform phlebotomy and related duties as needed as approved by Medical Director.
