Job summary

Olmsted Medical Center is seeking a 1.0 FTE Day Shift laboratory staff member. Starting pay ranges from $20.40 to $29.12 per hour, based on experience.

Qualifications

• Medical terminology preferred.
• Computer data entry skills preferred.
• Previous laboratory and specimen processing experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with high accuracy.
• Ability to manage high volume, high stress situations.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates proficiency in documenting patient specimen flow in LIS.
• Demonstrates good organizational skills and workflow management.
• Processes specimens according to requirements, including preparation for dispatch to external labs.
• Demonstrates effective problem-solving in reconciling orders and discrepancies.
• Maintains a safe work environment and adheres to safety standards.
• Assists with new employee orientation and training.
• Performs other duties as requested.

Starting Pay - $20.40 to $29.12 (based on experience)

Offers for external candidates are generally made between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Medical terminology preferred
