Qualifications

• Requires Associate of Science and 2–3 years in lab operations or facilities management.
• Knowledge of laboratory equipment, infrastructure, and safety requirements.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move heavy lab items.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Willingness to respond to emergencies and participate in on-call rotation.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements for research laboratories.

Responsibilities

• Lab Operations Support: conduct floor inspections, transport biohazard waste, wash and sterilize glassware, monitor gas levels, and respond to helpdesk tickets.
• Freezer Monitoring and Preventative Maintenance: monitor Aegis systems, perform defrosts and filter cleanings, assist in emergencies, and participate in 24/7 on-call rotation.
• Space Planning and Equipment Management: support space allocation, lab expansions/contractions, and setup for new faculty; relocate large equipment and perform routine maintenance.
• Shared Lab Consumables Management: inventory consumables, place orders in the financial system, and stock supplies in washrooms.
